MUSICIANS WANTED: bass, drums, blowers of long notes

Forming a band – here in Hobart. I would like to meet you if you would like to be a part of it!

I’m looking for musicians – young or old, male or female, black or white, gay or straight, pro or amateur, whatever! – who would like to jam, have fun while looking toward getting paid work performing.

Meanwhile, making sounds harmonious and fresh. Nothing serious – just played as well as we can make it.

Mostly playing guitar myself (sometimes ukulele, banjo or keyboard, and vocals) I’m hoping to draw out from the woodwork a bass player, a drummer, and someone who plays trumpet, cornet, sax, or clarinet, or maybe violin? – long notes!

The dominant flavour might be blues and/or jazz, or a mix of different genres, plus experimental stuff and originals. A light, clean, clear, strong rhythmic pulse is essential, whatever the genre, hey?

I think we’d also need to commit to a regular – perhaps weekly? fortnightly? – schedule of jam/practice sessions. Is that asking too much? I don’t know – let’s find out!

Starting for real in the new year – but if you are interested you could come and have a chat with me anytime soon.

You can hear me playing around with Georgia on my post: Remove The Labels, here:

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Cheers,

Joe
